Vilamoura Horse Competition

Throughout the six weeks of the competition the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre will bring together the worlds elite in equestrian jumping.

The event will bring together over 300 riders from 30+countries and more than 1000 horses to participate in the 2017 tour. It is expected that the event will bring in more than 15000 people from all over the world.

The purse will be €800,000 and the riders will earn points toward the FEI Longines Ranking and two Grand Prizes for qualification for the 2017 European Championship and the 2018 World Equestrian Games.

Among the participating riders will be the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games gold medal winner, Frenchman Philippe Rozier, who will be representing his country with fellow countrymen, Olivier Guillon, Lulien Gonin, Michel Hecart and Reynauld Angot. Brazilians Cassio Rivetti, Marlon Zanotelli, Filipe Guinato, Fernando Guinato and João Vitor Castro will also be participating. In addition, the Japanese olympic rider, Taizo Sugitani, German Marc Bettinger and the British riders Jaura Renwick and Nicole Pavitt will be among the participants. Juan Carlos Garcia will be representing Italy. From Portugal, Luis Sabino Gonçalves, João Chuva, Mário Wilson Fernandes and Duarte Seabra, among others, will compete. The 15th Edition of the Vilamoura Atlantic is causing excitement in the equestrian community as the number of registrants filled up quickly.

The event will take place at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre, a facilty that includes 5 arenas, 900 boxes, a veterinarian clinic and a bar/restaurant.
