The Algarve coastline is relatively short but very diverse from east to west. In our experience time flies onboard the yachts and we have introduced the 10hour extended day cruise to squeeze even more special moments into your day!.

What´s the best way to visit Grottoes, Benagil Cave and Lagos?

With ten hours to explore the coastline, we have more alternatives and can be more creative when planning your extended day cruise. We can choose to explore the caverns and also visit Lagos marina or the Ria Formosa, alternatively we can include more activity and swimming time into the itinerary, in plus take the RIB to see the caves up close (if sea conditions allow).

Here are a few examples of itineraries we can build for the extended full day cruise:

1. Lagos + Benagil Cave By Yacht

We can sail from Vilamoura between 0900 and 1000 to take advantage of the calmer morning seas. Heading west, we will cruise via Albufeira and Salgados, hugging the coastline and offering great views of the cliffs and rock formations. We can explore Benagil Cave and take a break in the water to swim and play with the SUP. (a lot of fun and a terrific photo opportunity!). After working up an appetite, we'll pull up alongside one of the beachfront restaurants, drop anchor, and ferry you to the beach for a truly memorable dining experience. Following a leisurely lunch, we can sail further down the coast, passing via Ferragudo and Meia Praia on our route to Lagos Marina. We can either make a stop at the Marina or extend our time swimming and relaxing.

Depending on the time of year and the season, we can then gently cruise back to Vilamoua, with the sun setting at the end to cap off the fantastic day!

2. RIa Formosa Tour By Yacht

The Ria Formosa Natural Park is a labyrinth of creeks, sandbanks, and beaches protected by several islands in the Algarve's east. Between 0900 and 1000, the cruise will depart from Vilamoura Marina and head east, where you will witness a very different coastline than in the westerly direction. We'll enter the Ria Formosa between the islands of Ilha Deserta and Ilha do Farol, and once inside, we'll seek a secluded beach where we can swim and enjoy the calm waters. Once you've worked up an appetite, we've got a lovely restaurant in a unique location waiting for you!

With this cruise, we can work with your schedule; we can spend time relaxing onboard or participating in water activities. Additionally, most of these cruises offer the option to upgrade to include a private tour of the oyster farm, as well as some tasting!

3. Benagil + Activities and Dolphins By Boat

This is an excellent alternative for groups who want to savour every moment on the ocean! As is the case with the other options, we depart from Vilamoura Marina and head west. We concentrate on the stretch of coast between Olhos D'Agua and Caroveiro. We also tour caves and rock formations, such as Benagil. We'll use the inflatable RIB to get up up and personal with the beaches and coves (sea conditions allowing). We'll have plenty of time to swim and relax before stopping for lunch at one of the beach restaurants in the Galé area. We'll keep an eye out for dolphins and, if we're lucky, we'll get to spend the day in the company of these enchanted creatures.

On this trip, we recommend upgrading to an activity hour, during which we could organise a variety of adrenaline-pumping watersports for you to experience, ranging from Jetski to Donuts. All of these upgrades are priced on an individual basis, and based on the number of individuals, the activity, and the duration, for example.

With the extended full day trips, we can customise the schedule to include watersports, an oyster farm (RIa Formosa only), parasailing, and other optional activities. These are all subject to extra charges. We can also add picnic lunches, chef and photographer on request and subject to availability.

We may need to make last minute alterations to factor in the wind, tides and weather. The itinerary is always subject to changes as we tailor te day to make the best experience.
