Tagus Sailing Cruise - Lisbon

Experience the beauty of the Tagus river in Lisbon under sail on a private sailing charter cruise.

Ideal for couples, families or small groups we can offer a trip on board a fantastic sailing yacht in the Tagus river to see Lisbon´s main monuments from the best perspective. These trips can be tailored to your tastes and here we give e few examples so drop us an enquiry for more details.

We depart  from Torre de Belém to Terreiro do Paço, passing close by Cristo Rei on the return.

We have a few sailing yachts available for private charter and the ones quoted here tours range from 9 to 13 meters.

• We offer trips with a minimum duration of 2 hours depending always on wind and tides.
• Trips depart daily and advance booking is essential in season.
• Sunset cruises are available, from 15.30 in winter through to as late as 19.00 in summer.
• Departure point is from Belem where an office is situated as a meeting point. All major tourists buses pass within 100 metres of the office.

Sailing trip to Cascais bay

We will sail directly from Lisbon to Cascais bay.
Once there, we will anchor for about one or two hours for swimming and sunbathing.
We will sail back to Lisbon at the end of the day when you will be able to team up with the crew if you want to experience sailing.

Sailing trip to Oeiras beach

We will sail approximately four hours and we will have the time to sail to Oeiras beach, anchor for one or two hours for swimming and sunbathing. Alternatively we can tailor the program to visit Oeiras Marina for lunch or dinner. This a great program for an evening dinner.

Sailing trip to Sesimbra

We will sail from Lisbon in the morning, heading south, passing by Cabo Espichel approximately 3 hours later where we will then head East to Sesimbra for two hours, with amazing views of the cliffs and deserted beaches until our arrival in Sesimbra where we will anchor for swimming and sunbathing.

At the end of the day, if you feel motivated for the trip back to Lisbon, you can sail back with our crew.

If you feel like enjoying a nice dinner in Sesimbra we can recommend a good restaurant and arrange your return by transfer.

Sailing trip to Tróia

We will depart from Lisbon in the morning sailing south, passing by Cabo Espichel approximately 3 hours later. Next we will sail East to Sesimbra for approximately two hours. Here we will witness the amazing views of the cliffs and deserted beaches until our arrival in Sesimbra where we will anchor for swimming and sunbathing.
Later in the afternoon we will Sail West to Tróia, entering the Sado river. This is the time that we are most likely to encounter dolphins who often come by the boat as they enter the Sado river in the afternoon.
For the evening and night the skipper will leave the boat and you will sleep docked at Tróia Marina where you will find nice restaurants, a casino and plenty to do.
The next day you still have the boat until 13.00 and you can sail around Tróia discovering the magnificent sights and wild life of the region.

The charter is over at 1300 and the skipper will sail back to Lisbon.You can then enjoy the afternoon in the beach and return at the end of the day by transfer, or embark on the adventure of sailing back to Lisbon with our crew.

What to wear:

We recommend comfortable clothes, sports shoes and for sunset tours, warmer clothes, although most of the nights in Lisbon are relatively warm.

• Children under 5 years old are requested to wear a life jacket from the time they leave the dock until returning to the dock.
• The Tagus river and the area of navigation between Lisbon, Cascais, and Tróia are very calm for the majority of the days as they are sheltered from the predominant north wind and waves.
• Our skippers are very experienced and will have your safety as their first concern.
• Our yachts are subject to annuals inspections and follow the Portuguese law regarding boat rental regulation and insurance.

Onboard facilities:

Fridge

The fridge has a freezer and around 50% of the capacity of a home refrigerator, but it is usually sufficient for the day or weekend trips.

Stove / Oven

The boats have a normal stove and a oven that can be used for cooking or heating any meals that you wish to bring.

Bathrooms

The boats have one or more bathrooms with shower.
