The draw is out for tenth edition of the Portugal Masters and the fans in the Algarve will be treated to some dynamic and exciting groups for the opening days.

Alex Noren’s fight for a fourth victory in nine starts will get underway in the company of Ryder Cup players Thomas Pieters and Andy Sullivan, (his playing partners for the first two rounds)

Defending champion Sullivan and Hazeltine hero Pieters will join the on form Swedish player on the tenth tee at 8.40am on the opening morning of the Masters. The three players have secured nine wins between them over the last 1.5 years, and are sure to attract a large following at the Oceanico Victoria course.  

With the Portugal Masters signaling the last chance for players to keep their cards through to next season, the afternoon session features some fascinating three balls with Daniel Im, Eddie Pepperell and Craig Lee set to tee off at 12.50pm from the first tee. .

In the following group, two members of Darren Clarke’s backroom team at Hazeltine National, Thomas Bjørn and Paul Lawrie, will get their game underway at 13.30 from the first tee alongside Scott Jamieson, who came so close to the first European Tour 59 here in the third round here in 2013.        

Tom Lewis and Steve Webster will be able to recall their Portugal Masters victories from 13.20pm, when they will be joined on the tenth tee by Robert Rock,another Englishman, who is one of nine players who have competed in all nine previous editions of the tournament.

The weather forecast is good and Vilamoura is once again the perfect host for this flagship contest.
